No banknotes for the Panama Canal Zone were ever issued but your collection of rare Panamanian banknotes is not complete without this
spectacular, limited edition, full-color fantasy one balboa/one dollar "regular issue" note featuring a portrait of Theodore Roosevelt with battleships in the background and a red and blue serial number!
This neat-looking pretend piece, about the size of an older large-size U. S. bill (approximately 7 1/4" long x 3 1/4" high), is one of the creations of the Reed Banknote Co., Sarasota!
This is a piece of banknote art and not an actual banknote and purports to be from the Panama Canal Zone.  It is graphic artist R. J. Reed's creation of what a dual denominational note of "series 1920A" could have looked like had one been prepared, and is
hand-signed by the artist
.
This bill is printed
only in a quantity of about 200 pieces
for the "series 1920A" serially-numbered "regular" issue.  There is also a rare specimen 1920A issue and a scarce specimen 1920 issue available from us with a similar design (1920 specimen has a copper-colored back and is printed on a green parchment-type paper).
Be one of the few lucky and astute collectors to obtain this lovely piece while it's available!
The note is printed on an ivory-colored security paper with embedded threads, including some that glow under UV.  It has a separate security feature -
a circular Reed Banknote repeating legend at right that glows red under UV.  Additionally, a facsimile signature of artist R. J. Reed is also visible as red under UV and he has also hand-signed each bill on the right as well.

This professionally laser-printed fantasy looks real, is great for display, and won't cost you much (and you won't have to worry about it getting stolen!).  The back of the bill has the following words above the denomination near the top center of the note (see also above scans):

You can see that this bill is totally in compliance with the Hobby Protection Act, so that unscrupulous individuals can't try to sell it as genuine.
