    Description

    This original general officers insignia is indicative of a high grade early war hat device.  Gold bullion wreath with sequins on a black velvet backing.   "U.S."  in silver bullion thread.   The insignia is constructed with a metal back covered by dark brown polished cotton.  It has its two small brass soldered on loops for attachment.  Item comes in a small riker case as displayed.  See photos for best idea of item and condition.  Questions welcomed.
