Original Set of US Civil War Shoulder Straps or Boards, 1 Star, Non-Regulation

Description

This is an Original set of US Civil War Era shoulder straps or sometimes called shoulder boards.
The bullion on these straps is in good shape with one small piece of border bullion missing on one of the straps.
The bullion is alternating light and dark.
The panels are a rich black velvet.
The one star indicates a Brigadier General rank.
However, this matched set of straps is a non-regulation pattern so it could indicate a high ranking Police Officer/Chief or possibly Fire Zouaves.
