    Description

    RARE and original Civil War faux-embroidered Union Artillery cap badge.  Mild to moderate patina. Die struck brass measures 2 5/8" wide.  Four attachment pins to the reverse are still intact.  These were attacked to a felt oval so the pin backs are correct.  A piece you rarely find in this condition.  Produced from 1855-1865.   Likely a Bannerman piece.  Please judge condition for yourself based on the pictures.  Please see Campell & O'Donnell's American Military Headgear Insignia, Figure 270.
