Description
This Guatemala 200 Quetzal banknote from 2009 is part of the 2008 - 2017 series. Its front design depicts a portrait of Sebastian Hurtado, Mariano Valverde, and German Alcantara, along with the flag, the national emblem, a perched quetzal bird, a stylized temple, and a Mayan glyph on a green-to-blue OVI patch. On the reverse is the musical score of La Flor del Cafe by Alcantara, a marimba chromatica instrument by Hurtad, an allusion to Noche de luna entre Ruinas by Valverde, a flag, and a perched quetzal bird. The note measures 156 x 67 mm and contains a windowed security thread with demetalized 200BG as part of its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of Hurtado, Valverde, Alcantara, and electrotype 200.
