AWESOME 2ND CAVALRY CIVIL WAR
KEPI
Blue wool kepi with Cavalry service "C" buttons and oval embroidered metallic thread hat emblem with number "2" and crossed swords attached to the front. Some minor mothing and scattered white spotting. Very Good overall.
The Bill Bentham Collection.
There is some slight fading of what was once a deep Blue wool Kepi that does have some minor mothing and staining. Chin strap, Cavalry Buttons and Embroidered Emblem are present and as tight as your Crazy Uncle on New Years Eve. This could have been a private purchase as most soldiers wore their own headgear either bringing their favorite from Home or purchasing one or picking up one on the battlefield. This beauty was worn by a member of the Legendary 2nd Cavalry whose bravery is marked by a Monument at Gettysburg and remarkably has no Major issues. This will make for an excellent addition and Display for your Headgear collection. These Original pieces are becoming more and more difficult to find at any price and this one in this condition is a fabulous opportunity to own the real thing at a very fair price. Your Grandchildren will thank you.
