Description

Lot is for a pair (2) of vintage 1988 storage tins for B and B Liqueur--Benedictine and Brandy.  These attractive tins do NOT have the liqueur bottles with them.
Black tins measure 10 3/4" tall by 4 1/2" square with hinged top lid which features the B & B logo crest in gold.  Front panel features an art nouveau style full color image of a well-dressed couple enjoying an aperitif while an image of a building (Buckingham palace?) is seen through the large stained glass window behind them.  The side panels feature a raised relief art nouveau stylized floral in gold with the B & B on top and the letters D.O.M.  near a heart and the words Deo Optimo Maximo on the bottom.  The back panel features an image of the bottle with glass and the history of the invention of the B & B drink below in gold lettering.  Bottom is a bronze color with UPC code.
Tins are in overall very good condition--no dings, dents, oxidized rust, etc.  There is some minor wearing away of the gold paint on the outline of the front panel art in spots. Top logos, main art, side panels all in great condition.  Rear panel on one tin has two vertical scratches that break paint on the left side of the panel, but are not oxidized.   Hinges are solid and secure.
One idea for display and use of these is to weigh them down inside with something (sand bag, etc.) and use them as bookends.
